Posted

Maggie Sullivan was honored with a luncheon for 30 years of leadership, service and volunteerism with the Alzheimer’s Association on May 19 at Chandler Hall in Newtown.

Sullivan was presented with an award from the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association for her 30 years of service. She was also presented with a plaque of appreciation from the friends, current and former support group members that attended her award luncheon.

Sullivan has been facilitating Alzheimer’s caregiver support groups at Chandler Hall. She has been aleader in supporting caregivers on their journey with the ones they care for. Her knowledge of Alzheimer’s and related dementias along with her empathy for caregivers make her an outstanding facilitator. So much so that some of her support group members keep coming back to her support groups even after their loved ones pass away.

She facilitates a group to learn from one another and also her expertise. She fosters a sense of hope to find the answers to helping loved ones get the care they need. She also encourages caring for the caregiver.
