Rutgers junior and Central Bucks West graduate Chloe Timberg finished seventh on Sunday in the U.S. Olympic pole vault trials in Eugene, Oregon.

Timberg was one of 13 out of 24 vaulters to advance from Friday’s first round to Sunday’s final. She cleared 4.20 meters (13 feet, 9 ¼ inches), 4.35 meters (14 feet, 3 ¼ inches) and 4.50 meters (14 feet, 9 inches) all on her first jump on Friday night.

Timberg, who was featured in last Thursday’s edition of the Herald, ultimately cleared 4.63 meters on Sunday (15 feet, 2 ¼ inches), before falling short at 4.68 meters (15 feet, 4 ¼ inches).

The reigning 2024 NCAA outdoor champion, Timberg is currently ranked 32nd in the world. Timberg’s 4.71-meter jump and personal record at the NCAAs was just .02 meters short of the Olympic qualifying standard.

The Games of the XXXIII Olympiad open in Paris on July 26.
