Cecilia Ann Fresco, 72, of New Hope, Pa,, died on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, at Penn Med in Philadelphia. She was surrounded by her loving family.
A native of Exeter, Nebraska, Cecilia grew up on her parents’ farm in a large and loving family. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Exeter. She graduated from the local Catholic grammar school and Exeter Public High School. Cecilia attended the University of Nebraska. Soon after she moved to Bucks County, Pennsylvania, with her close friend as they tried their career luck. She got her first job at Solid State Scientific where her paths crossed with a departing employee, Jim Fresco. A spark was lit. Cecilia and Jim married and raised their family in Solebury. She was devoted to her family. After their sons were grown, Cecilia returned to the work force. She was the office manager for St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in New Hope where she also served as the administrator for the religious education program (CCD). More recently she worked in the office of the Central Bucks Family Practice, prior to her retirement.
Cecilia was rarely idle. She was a gifted gardener and was especially proud of her flowers. She was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed sewing. An avid reader, she especially enjoyed the Mitch Rapp novels by Vince Flynn and the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child. Cecilia enjoyed movies and preferred action adventures. More than anything Cecilia was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She doted on her grandchildren and always went all out for Christmas.
Cecilia was the devoted wife of James A. Fresco, loving mother of Anthony J. Fresco and his wife Jacquelyn of North Wales, Pa., Thomas J. Fresco and his wife Fernanda of Quakertown, Pa., and Joseph M. Fresco and his wife Tiffany of Chalfont, Pa., and doting grandmother of Charlotte, Leonardo, Milania, Giavana, Vincenzo, Eliana and Isabella. Cecilia is also survived by her sisters and brothers Patricia Koca (husband Joe) of Exeter, Neb.; Virginia Bode (husband Bill) of Friend, Neb.; James Becker (wife Kaye) of Hastings, Neb.; Mark Becker (wife Meg) of Exeter, Neb.; Greg Becker of Hastings, Neb.; her brother-in-law Roger Pribyl of Milligan, Neb.; and her extended family of nieces, nephews, friends and associates. Cecilia was predeceased by her parents Cyril and Margaret Leif Becker, her sister Mary Pribyl and her brothers, Tom Becker and Cyril Becker.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1 Riverstone Circle, New Hope, PA 18938.
There will be visitation at the church that morning from 10 a.m. until the start of Mass.
Interment will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Attendees should gather at the cemetery’s administrative building by 10:20 a.m.
