A ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony was held June 13, to officially kick-off construction of St. Mary’s Cemetery Columbarium on the campus of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Doylestown.
The Rev. Matthew Guckin, pastor, was joined by the Rev. Shane Flanagan, OLMC parochial vicar, and invited guests, including Doylestown Borough Mayor Noni West, and local funeral directors, to ceremonially break ground at the columbarium’s site which is part of the grounds of the Parish’s historic St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The columbarium has been created to provide a final resting place for cremated remains of deceased parishioners and others. Construction is expected to be completed later this fall.
