Woman dies after tree falls on her camper in Milford

Posted

A woman was killed Saturday night after a tree fell on her camper in a Milford Township campground, officials said.

Cynthia Cousins, 69, was in her family’s camper with her husband, Robert, when a large tree, approximately 94 inches in diameter, crashed into the vehicle that was parked at the Quaker Woods Campground at 2225 Rosedale Road, according to authorities. First responders with St. Luke’s emergency transport services pronounced Cousins dead at 10:35 p.m., the Bucks County Coroner’s Office said. The office ruled her death accidental, saying the cause of death was blunt head and torso injuries.

Robert Cousins was thrown from the camper when the tree hit, officials said. He sustained minor injuries. The couple is from Bensalem.

The campground did not return a call seeking comment.

Pennsylvania State Police Dublin Barracks responded to the scene at 11:43 p.m., following several 911 calls. Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Milford Township Fire Department and the Bucks County Coroner’s Office assisted at the scene.
