John W. Snyder peacefully passed away on February 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his partner of eighteen years, Tina, and his stepsons David, Joseph, Matthew, and Anthony, along with his granddaughter Addison.
John lived a rich and fulfilling life, dedicating fifty-five years to Boy Scouts, initially as a Scout and later as a Scout Master and leader. He also served diligently with the 2nd Alarmer’s Rescue, volunteering his time and effort to aid communities in need. Notably, he participated in relief efforts during Hurricane Camille, distributing essential supplies in the affected areas. It was through his work with the rescue squad that he met his late wife, Maureen, and together they saved numerous lives. In his later years, John discovered a new passion for chainsaw carving, delighting in entertaining others with his craftsmanship during travels around neighboring counties. John’s love for his family was unwavering, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 9, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 8667 Windom Dr, Coopersburg, 18036. Family visitation begins at 11:00 AM, with the service following at 12:00 noon, and a light luncheon afterward.
