Margaret Ann Schweinfurth passed away at home November 14, 2023. She was 98 years old.
Born December 8, 1924 in Southampton, Pa., to Horace and Loretta Sauerman. She had two brothers Earl and Don and an older sister Irene. She graduated from Southampton High School in 1942 and in 1943 married her high school sweetheart William Schweinfurth of Hatboro. They were married for 60 years until his death in 2003. From this union came four children, Bill, Irene, Jeff and Jerry along with nine granchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Ann belonged to three churches, which included Pleasantville UCC and Dotterer Memorial Baptist where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. After moving to Franconia, she became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Even with raising four children, she worked many part-time jobs to supplement the family income. When the children were grown she was a bookkeeper full and part-time until 1989.
Ann loved to travel, which included a trip across the United States and Alaska, the Middle East, Europe, the Holy Land, Hawaii and Disney. There were over 20 years of annual family trips to the Outer Banks.
Her hobbies included bowling, reading, baking, puzzles and needlepoint. Many intricate framed counted cross stitch masterpieces hang in her home and those of her family. Ann was an avid Phillies baseball fan. For years she had an official score book and kept track of every detail of every game.
To honor her life, an 11 a.m. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 13th at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 107 W. Lincoln Ave. in Telford, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Souderton Generations of Indian Valley Meals on Wheels, who provided so many years of meals and friendship. Generationsofiv.org.
