Marjorie (Margie) Ann Lynam, 94, of Washington Crossing, PA, died peacefully surrounded by her family at home on Saturday, February 24, 2024.
Born in Bound Brook, NJ, Margie was the second daughter of Frank and Josephine (nee O’Donnell) Young. As a child, Margie moved from Somerville to Jersey City, NJ where she attended St. Paul’s Elementary School and met the love of her life, Thomas Lynam. Over more than 80 years, Margie and Tom built a life together rooted in faith, love, and family.
Margie graduated from St. Aloysius High School in Jersey City and became a customer service representative for the New York Telephone Company, where she worked until she and Tom started their family. She was a devoted wife and mother. Margie and Tom had nine children, 17 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. They moved from Jersey City to Hazlet, NJ then to Ewing, NJ where they lived for 25 years. They moved to Yardley, PA, where they lived for 30 years, before moving to Washington Crossing seven years ago to live with their daughter Kathleen and son-in-law George. Over the years, Margie was a communicant of Incarnation Parish in Ewing, NJ; St. John the Evangelist Parish in Yardley, PA; and most recently St. John the Evangelist Parish in Lambertville, NJ.
Margie and Tom enjoyed traveling for business with the New Jersey Savings League and vacationing at the Jersey shore. More than anything, the couple enjoyed being together with their family. Nothing brought Margie more joy than hosting large family gatherings for holidays and other special occasions. She also treasured her time with her grandchildren and being supportive of their lives and activities. Aside from her faith, Margie’s greatest devotion was to Tom, her husband of nearly 70 years, up until the moment of his passing in 2021. Although she was heartbroken to lose Tom, she persevered through numerous health challenges over the past three years until she was finally ready to join him. While her family will miss her dearly, they are inspired by her life and comforted to know that she has been reunited with her true love.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Marjorie was predeceased by her siblings, Joan Devaney, Frank Young, and Laurence Young, as well as an infant son. She is survived by her children and their spouses – Kathleen and George Crane of Washington Crossing, PA, Patricia and Christopher Crane of Mechanicsburg, PA, Thomas and Diane Lynam of Pipersville, PA, Jean Johnson of Groveville, NJ, Teresa and David Twamley of Princeton Junction, NJ, Elizabeth and Gerard Vrancik of Kintnersville, PA, Regina and Kenneth Walker of Yardley, PA, and Christine and Larry Thiel of New Hope, PA; her grandchildren – Ann Marie Lucas, Kathleen Munson, Erin Schrage, Kristin Myers, Christopher Crane, Kelly Harrison, Shannon Fiedler, Thomas Lynam, Brigid Siegfried, David Twamley, Andrew Vrancik, Patrick Lynam, Sara Vrancik, Eric Johnson, Larry Thiel, Matthew Thiel, and Lucy Thiel, and her 17 great-grandchildren. At the time of her passing, Marjorie was looking forward to the arrival of two new great-grandchildren.
