The New Hope-Solebury & Lambertville Community Choir will host a Mozart Summer Sing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16.
The summer session at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Road, Solebury, is part of NHSLCC’s ongoing expansion into the community.
Singers of all kinds – from beginner to advanced – are invited to join with NHSLCC artistic director/founder Rick Rosen, accompanist Roburt Gajdos, members of the Community Choir, and area singers, to sing through some of Mozart’s very best choral music.
The evening will begin with sing-along readings of Mozart’s “Bona nox!” and “Ave Verum Corpus,” followed by the “Requiem,” to be sung by all the attending singers. Participants are welcome to bring their own scores, or loaner copies of the music will be provided.
The suggested donation is $5.
“We believe that music is medicine and that music is for everyone,” said Rosen. “Our basic idea is to make music and musical expression accessible not just to those who enjoy the ‘upper levels’ of listening and performance, but to one and all. This Summer Sing, where we all get an opportunity to sing this miraculously wonderful music in a no-fault, no-blame setting, is a great example of what we’re about.”
