Weekly Coronavirus Briefing for June 1

Total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania at 2,932,186

Harrisburg — The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that as of June 1, the statewide cumulative total cases of COVID-19 is 2,932,186. That is up nearly 25,000 cases from the previous week.

There are 2,424,337 confirmed cases and 507,849 who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases.

The Pennsylvania death registry reported a cumulative total of 45,254 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rules, and regulations, including health care, local business and workplace guidance. For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public.

Numbers by county as of June 1

  • Bucks County: 130,408 cases and 1,924 deaths
  • Chester County: 98,471 cases and 1,174 deaths
  • Delaware County: 117,605 cases and 1,882 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 93,999 cases and 1,261 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 164,608 cases and 2,350 deaths
  • Northampton County: 84,097 cases and 1,111 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 326,427 cases and 5,134 deaths

The Department of Health continues to provide the public with extensive and frequently updated data on both the COVID-19 dashboard and the vaccine dashboard. Both dashboards provide an interactive experience for the user to review statewide and local-level data updated daily.

The department will continue to provide data via online dashboards; however,  the dashboards will be updated on a weekly basis.
