The Council Rock South Golden Hawks girls tennis team was truly golden last October.

Wednesday’s Flyers Cup 2A final at Hatfield Ice Arena, saw the two Suburban High School Hockey League finalists square off once again.

Rachel Thomas of Jamison, a sophomore from Central Bucks South High School, came in first place in The University of Scranton’s 22nd annual Northeast PA Brain Bee competition, held on campus in February. Jordan Levin of Holland, a junior from Council Rock South, came in second place.

Council Rock South won its first Flyers Cup matchup with Spring Ford 12-0 two nights earlier in the tournament’s Class 2A opener and that battle was called after two periods.

The 45th Flyers Cup dropped the puck in Tuesday 2A first-round action. Three area teams advanced to the quarterfinals.
