10th District residents invited to telephone town hall on Blue Zones

Posted

State Sen. Steve Santarsiero will host a Telephone Town Hall at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, to talk about the well-being initiative Blue Zones Ignite Bucks Area.

He will be joined on the call by Kim Everett, executive director at Bucks County Health Improvement Partnership (BCHIP) and Margaret Brown, VP of Business Development at Blue Zones, to introduce you to this project and answer your questions live.

You may be familiar with Blue Zones from the four-part documentary on Netflix called “Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones,” which explores communities that thrive and the commonalities among those communities.

With extensive research, the series identifies key components for communities where many of the residents live long and healthy lives. They are:

•Connection to community, family, and friends.

•Healthy diet and eating habits.

•Regular exercise and daily movement.

•Living with a purpose and having a positive outlook.

If you did not receive a call yesterday inviting you to join the town hall, or prefer to listen live on your computer, visit www.senatorstevesantarsiero.com/tth at 7 p.m. If you’d like to submit a question in advance, or after the town hall, email senatorsantarsiero@pasenate.com.
