August show at Stover Mill Gallery features Janine Dunn Wade

Posted

Stover Mill Gallery will showcase works by Janine Dunn Wade that vibrate with lyrical movement, celebrate color, and dance on the joyful edge between realism and abstraction.

The intention is to see shapes of color in space and arrange them into something visually exciting with an element of mystery, the artist says.

“Dancing with Color and Mystery,” running Aug. 3-25, encompasses Dunn Wade’s works from the past 20 years and shows the path from her more traditional work to her more abstracted pieces.

She is a still-life painter who aims to “find energy through movement and color. [She] looks for shapes of color in space and arranges them into something visually exciting with a touch of mystery.”

Born in New York City, Dunn Wade received her B.F.A. from Villanova University, and also studied abroad in Paris, Italy and Mexico. She currently resides in Doylestown, where she is represented by Patricia Hutton Galleries.

Dunn Wade has exhibited widely, including in New York City, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Bucks County, and Michigan. She has received awards from the American Impressionist Society, Philadelphia Sketch Club, Phillips Mill (including the Patrons Award for Painting) and more.

The gallery, located at 852 River Road, Erwinna, is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. The exhibition is on view Aug. 3-4, 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25. The opening reception will take place from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. Admission is free; the gallery is handicapped accessible and may be reached at 610-294-9420.
