Total cumulative COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania at 2,815,518

Harrisburg - The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed that on April 28, there were 2283 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide cumulative total cases to 2,815,518.

There was one new death identified by the Pennsylvania death registry and reported for a cumulative total of 44,661 deaths attributed to COVID-19 .

There are 2,332,618 confirmed cases and 482,900 who have a positive viral antigen test and are considered probable cases.

The department continues to urge Pennsylvanians to follow CDC guidance for wearing a mask where required by law, rules, and regulations, including health care, local business and workplace guidance. For the protection of themselves and others, individuals who have not yet been vaccinated or are partially vaccinated, are still encouraged to wear a mask when in public.

  • Bucks County: 124,730 cases and 1,892 deaths
  • Chester County: 93,323 cases and 1,153 deaths
  • Delaware County: 111,561 cases and 1,873 deaths
  • Lehigh County: 90,327 cases and 1,239 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 155,096 cases and 2,317 deaths
  • Northampton County: 80,502 cases and 1,092 deaths
  • Philadelphia: 313,299 cases and 5,092 deaths

The Department of Health continues to provide the public with extensive and frequently updated data on both the COVID-19 dashboard and the vaccine dashboard. Both dashboards provide an interactive experience for the user to review statewide and local-level data updated daily.

The department will continue to provide data via online dashboards; however, starting in late April, the dashboards will be updated on a weekly basis.
