Fordhook Farm hosts BCHS Garden Party

Posted

Fordhook Farm in Doylestown was the scene of a June 1 Garden Party hosted by the Bucks County Historical Society.

Held in support of Mercer’s Vision-Fonthill’s Future, A Campaign for the Fonthill Castle Grounds, the event featured tours of the grounds and gardens at the 60-acre Burpee estate – owned by George Ball, chairman of W. Atlee Burpee Company – signature fare and beverages.

Kyle McKoy, BCHS president and CEO, also provided an update on the Fonthill Castle Grounds project that will fulfill Henry Mercer’s vision of responsibly using the 69-acres of land at Fonthill to sustain the region’s natural beauty, shelter its native trees and species, and provide a space for education and enjoyment for all who visit.
