Justin McCuen tapped as new Plumstead Christian boys basketball coach

Posted

Justin McCuen was recently named the new head boys basketball coach at Plumstead Christian School. He takes the place of the retiring John Elton, who spent the last 17 seasons on Plumstead’s hardwood as an assistant or head varsity coach.

PCS, the smallest school in the Bicentennial Athletic League, has always punched above its weight in basketball. The school made a run to the PIAA Class A elite eight in 2018, advanced to states again in 2022 and has made district playoffs in nine of the last 10 tournaments.

McCuen comes to Plumstead from across the Delaware River, after 19 years as an assistant at Group 4 South Brunswick. The Vikings won two sectionals and were state runners-up with McCuen on staff. A social studies teacher by trade, McCuen currently coaches travel basketball in Hatboro-Horsham.

McCuen earned his degree at Arcadia. He was a three-year starter who still ranks in the top six in school history in both 3 pointers made and 3-point percentage.
