Lower Makefield invites public to Tuesday Patterson Farm forum

Posted

Lower Makefield’s Ad-Hoc Property Committee will hold a second and final public forum Tuesday to shape the future of the 234-acre township-owned Patterson Farm on Mirror Lake Road.

At this meeting, the architectural firm Seiler + Drury will lay out a long-term vision for the site that committee chairman Dennis Steadman described in a statement as an “agricultural, historical and natural open space.”

Township Manager David Kratzer said the master plan must not only paint a vision but also lay a path to realize it that includes specific recommendations for how to get started.

The forum is scheduled for Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the administration building, 1100 Edgewood Road, Yardley PA 19067.

The format will be open house-style and residents are invited to attend and comment on the master plan.

“(W)e will present costs and proposed designs for all 15 buildings on the property with 2 or 3 reuse options for each building,” said Doug Seiler, principal, Seiler + Drury Architecture in a statement. “We look forward to the forum and getting residents’ feedback on our findings, ideas, and recommendations.”

More than 140 residents attended the first forum on June 26.

“We hope residents will come and help us decide the future for this important historical and beautiful agricultural site,” said Steadman.
