Lower Makefield Wegmans expected to open early next year

Posted

A much-anticipated Wegmans supermarket in Lower Makefield is expected to open in the first quarter of 2024, township Community Development Director Jim Majewski recently said.

The 94,024-square-foot store, when open, would join the other Bucks County Wegmans in Warrington.

The Lower Makefield supermarket is part of the large mixed commercial/residential development Prickett Preserve steadily taking shape on Stony Hill Road, across from Shady Brook Farm.

In addition to the Wegmans, the development consists of 52,000 square feet of additional retail or other commercial space and nine apartment buildings totaling 200 units. The apartments, which will include a clubhouse and pool for use by tenants, are expected to become available starting in September, Majewski estimated.

Other commercial establishments will include a Chase Bank, CVS Pharmacy, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Tropical Smoothie, First Watch and Spenga: Spin+Strength+Yoga.

The bank anticipates opening in a few months and the rest sometime in 2024, Majewski said.

Prickett Preserve also includes the preservation and re-purposing of an existing historic farmhouse and barn, he added.
