The Birches hosts 11th annual Holiday Sock Drive

Posted

Clean, well-fitting socks are a vital part of keeping feet healthy, yet this simple piece of clothing is anything but simple to someone experiencing homelessness.

The Birches at Newtown is partnering with its in-house podiatrist Lawrence C. Kalker to collect brand-new socks.

From Nov. 2 through Dec. 30, The Birches, located at 70 Durham Road, will be a drop-off site for new, quality socks in various sizes for men, women and children. The collection will benefit the Valley Youth House, Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter, and Coalition to Shelter and Support the Homeless. This annual program has collected over 13,000 pairs of brand-new socks.

If you drop off a pair of new socks at The Birches (this location only), you’ll receive a free scratch-off lottery ticket during Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Must be 18 years or older.
