It’s become an annual tradition for Tinicum Conservancy members, family and friends to gather on a private property one evening every year and watch a great film together, and this year they have something extraordinary on offer: “My Octopus Teacher.”
The moving and beautifully filmed documentary follows the unlikely relationship that began when filmmaker Craig Foster encountered a young octopus while swimming in the waters of the Great African Sea Forest.
After visiting her den every day for months, he eventually won the animal’s trust, and as she shared the secrets of her world, Foster found himself quietly transforming into a new man.
The community is invited to bring a chair and/or blanket along with your favorite snacks and refreshments. And don’t forget to say “hi” to the conservancy’s new Executive Director, Eric Anderson.
Admission to Tinicum Conservancy Dinner and a Movie Night, taking place at a private home in Tinicum from 7-10 p.m. Friday, June 14, is free and open to all. (Rain Date: Saturday, June 15.)
