Body found on Delaware Riverbank identified

Posted

Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck announced today that the Bucks County Coroner’s Office has identified a body recovered from the bank of the Delaware River in Falls Township on March 21, as that of Zachary Lobato, 24, of Hamilton, N.J.

Lobato had been missing since January 27. He is confirmed to be the person witnessed jumping from the Trenton Makes Bridge on that date.

The body was found March 21, by a fisherman on the Delaware River who alerted authorities. Falls Township Police Department and Morrisville Fire Department assisted the Coroner’s Office with recovery of the body.

Next of kin has been notified and assisted with identification of Lodato. Preliminary autopsy findings revealed evidence of prolonged water immersion and no obvious signs of trauma. The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation and final autopsy report.
