Bucks County parks department wants to hear from residents

Posted

The Bucks County Department of Parks & Recreation is asking all those who live in Bucks to help it improve the more than 9,000 acres in its park system.

In what the department is calling a “Listening and Learning” program, residents and park visitors can respond to a survey asking for input about their needs and expectations of the county’s many parks.

“We want to understand how people use the park system, what works well and what could be improved,” parks officials said.

The effort is the first phase of BCDPR’s latest Comprehensive Recreation, Parks and Open Space Plan.

“It will provide forward-thinking and actionable recommendations to improve the county park system,” officials said in a statement.

Over the summer, a consultant working on the project will join parks department representatives at various community events to gather the public’s thoughts on the county’s park facilities.

On Aug. 3, they’ll visit Arthropalooza at Churchville Nature Center and the Silver Lake Nature Center Volunteer Day on Sept. 7, among other stops.
