Bucks Reentry Coalition hosts Job and Resource Fair

Posted

As part of the Bucks County Reentry Coalition’s mission, and to help celebrate National Second Chance month throughout April, a Job & Resource Fair will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25 at PA CareerLink Bucks County, 4800 E. Street Road, Suite 50, Trevose.

In addition to meeting with employers during the job fair, justice-involved individuals and their families can visit the Bucks County Reentry Coalition’s newly updated website, BucksReentry.com, which was designed to serve as a “one-stop shop” for a wide array of reentry-related resources in Bucks County.

The Bucks County Reentry Coalition was formed in 2019 to enhance collaboration among community and professional partners working with formerly incarcerated individuals by providing information and access to resources. Since its inception, the Coalition has created a strategic plan and bylaws and has developed a diverse and robust membership comprising volunteers from over 80 agencies that represent nearly every facet of the reentry system in Bucks County, including treatment, housing, faith-based mentorship, education, employment, peer support and government.

Member agency accomplishments include conducting reentrant-focused employment events both behind the walls and in the community; improving access to education, training, and mentorship opportunities; instituting a housing program specifically targeting the justice-involved population; and starting a reentry program serving individuals with a history of significant trauma. Additionally, the first-ever Reentry Unit in Bucks County has been established by the Adult Probation & Parole Department in cooperation with the Bucks County Department of Corrections.
