The hard part came 3+ years ago — borrowing the $2.35 million taxpayer-funded payment for the 12-acre former flea market site on Route 202 (between Logan Square and Reeder Road) in Solebury.
The easier part — naming the future township park destined for the site — fell to the Solebury Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.
But it wasn’t a done deal because the supervisors felt they needed the advice of the Parks & Recreation Board.
The name “Solebury Park,” as suggested by Chair Mark Baum-Baicker, sounded like a shopping mall, according to Supervisor Kevin Morrissey.
It was then decided unanimously that “Solebury Central Park” and “Solebury Center Park” should both be submitted to the township’s Parks & Recreation Board for its input.
The final decision will be made by the supervisors at a future meeting.
