Din Abazi appointed to District Executive for PennDOT Engineering District 6

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Din Abazi, has been appointed to the position of District Executive for PennDOT Engineering District 6, which covers Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. Abazi had been serving as senior assistant district executive for maintenance since 2023.

Abazi is responsible for the planning and supervising of the state highway system across PennDOT District 6. Within the five counties, PennDOT owns and maintains 3,553 miles of state highway and 2,760 bridges.

Abazi joined PennDOT Engineering District 6 in 2005 as a civil engineer trainee. Upon graduating from the trainee program, he was promoted to the design unit as civil engineer for bridges.

Abazi progressed through the Department and held various roles within the District 6 Design and Construction units. Abazi served as a senior civil engineer supervisor of bridge, assistant district bridge engineer for design, assistant district bridge engineer for inspection, and district bridge engineer. Abazi also served as the principal assistant construction engineer for Philadelphia County in the Construction Unit.

Abazi graduated from Drexel University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration.
