Doylestown woman pleads guilty to part in Jan. 6 riot

A Doylestown woman recently pleaded guilty to a federal misdemeanor charge for her role in the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol.
Dawn Bancroft, 59, owner of the CrossFit Sine Pari gym in Doylestown Township, told U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan that she was “guilty” and ready “to take the consequences” for recording herself saying she was looking for House speaker Nancy Pelosi “to shoot her in the friggin brain,” according to reporting by the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Her comment, she said, was “stupid, juvenile.”

Diane Santo-Smith, 32, who took the train with Bancroft to Washington, D.C., also pleaded guilty. She is a Bucks County resident and appeared in the background of Bancroft’s video.
A third Bucks County resident, Gary Edwards, 68, of Churchville, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges for his participation in the riot. He, like Bancroft and Santo-Smith, faces probation or up to six months in prison after sentencing.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Sullivan said he agreed with remarks from former President George W. Bush, when he suggested the Capitol riot was comparable to the terrorism that took place on 9/11.
