Easton Public Market to celebrate anniversary with birthday bash

Posted

The Easton Public Market is gearing up to commemorate its eighth anniversary with a birthday celebration 5:30-8 p.m. May 17.

The milestone event promises an evening of festivities, a free performance from local favorites A Few Good Men, vendor specials, and an anniversary prize drawing.

To kick things off, there will be a ceremony to dedicate the recently constructed Air Product Plaza, which occupies the space between the public market and the new 4th Street Garage. The plaza represents a new community gathering space, and place for outdoor dining and outdoor celebrations hosted by GEDP and the Easton Public Market.

Eight years ago, on April 15, 2016, the Greater Easton Development Partnership (GEDP) opened the Easton Public Market, marking a significant chapter in the city’s culinary landscape. Born as an extension of the historic Easton Farmers’ Market, the Easton Public Market has become a new center of community in the City of Easton.

Today, the market welcomes approximately 6,000 visitors weekly, serving not just as a culinary destination but as a vibrant community hub. From hosting art shows and cooking classes to being the go-to spot for weekly entertainment with the Acoustic Kitchen series, the market has solidified its place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike.

As the market celebrates its eighth anniversary, it pays homage to pioneering vendors who have been part of its journey since day one. From the chocolates of Chocodiem to the barbecue offerings of More Than Q, these stalwart vendors have been instrumental in shaping the market’s identity. Other inaugural vendors include the Highmark Farmstand, Mister Lee’s Noodles, More than Q, Scratch, and Tolino Vineyards.

Easton Public Market is partnering with Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital in honor of its eighth anniversary and the hospital’s birthday. All funds will benefit the Inpatient Pediatrics Family Assistance Fund, which provides inpatient pediatrics financial assistance to families with children who are admitted to the children’s hospital.
