The Tohickon Middle School principal charged with harassment and trespassing stemming from a domestic dispute last month waived his preliminary hearing Thursday after two felony charges were withdrawn and one charge was amended by Bucks County authorities.
Kevin R. Marton, 53, of Lambertville, N.J. did not enter a plea at his hearing before Magisterial Judge Mark Douple. His arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 27 in the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas. There, he’ll face a misdemeanor criminal trespass charge, said Marton’s attorney Antonetta Stancu.
“We’re thrilled the court has heard the facts as presented,” said Stancu, following the hearing. She had no comment regarding Marton returning to his job at the middle school.
Marton was placed on administrative leave after his Aug. 17 arrest following the dispute with his estranged wife.
The leave was retroactive to Aug. 21, with his “anticipated return” set for Oct. 21, according to the Central Bucks School Board’s Sept. 12 agenda.
The district did not say if the leave was paid or unpaid. Marton’s name has been removed from the district’s website and Kyle Dudley has been appointed interim principal.
Marton allegedly went to his wife’s home on Mary Street in Doylestown Borough at approximately 9 p.m. Aug. 17. He entered the home, where he doesn’t live, and refused to leave after repeatedly being asked to, according to court documents.
