On Wednesday, October 18, over 300 leaders in business, philanthropy, the arts, and civic life attended the Bucks County Herald Foundation’s second annual anniversary party held at the Michener Art Museum. Two media icons from Bucks County, CNN and SiriumXM radio host and author, Michael Smerconish, and veteran journalist and documentarian Jennifer Lin, received Excellence in Journalism Awards. In accepting the awards before the sold-out gathering, Smerconish and Lin gave impassioned remarks about the vital role the Herald plays in reporting on local news and maintaining community connectivity in an increasingly disconnected world. The day after the event, Michael Smerconish, a longtime champion for the Herald, reiterated his heartfelt message to his national listening audience on his popular newsletter broadcast aired on SiriusXM.
