Free 12-week mini-MBA offered to food industry entrepreneurs

Posted

Applications for “Cultivate Small Business,” a free 12-week mini-MBA that helps early-stage entrepreneurs build and sustain businesses in the food industry, are due June 15.

Classes run from early September to the end of November.

The Small Business Development Center at Temple University is recruiting local businesses to participate in this specialized program for the second year.

Santander’s “Cultivate Small Business” was created to help early-stage entrepreneurs build and sustain businesses in the food industry, with a focus on woman-, immigrant- and BIPOC-owned businesses.

Along with a food-focused curriculum taught by Babson College MBA professors, the program provides mentorship and capital grants.

The 12-week live virtual program runs from Sept. 6 to Nov. 30 with graduation in mid-December.

The curriculum is built just for food business owners. Participants gain access to experts in the food industry, a network of fellow food entrepreneurs and capital grants ranging from $2,500 to $15,000.

Business must have been in operation for at least one year as of March 1, 2023 and preference is given to businesses that: are woman-, immigrant- or BIPOC-owned in the food industry; had revenue between $25,000 and $1,000,000 in the last calendar year; and are located in the Philadelphia area.
