Grand View Health Cardiac Cath Lab announces new leadership

Posted

Grand View Health is introducing a new operational structure that will strengthen its David M. Flowers Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and the comprehensive, 24/7 heart care that the lab provides to its patients.

Effective Aug. 15, Grand View Health assumed full operational responsibility of the cardiac catheterization lab at the Sellersville hospital.

The Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Grand View Hospital has been providing 24/7/365 care for heart patients since November 2019; services were provided in partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network.

“While we value our long-term partnership with Lehigh Valley, by bringing the day-to-day operation of the David M. Flowers Cardiac Catheterization Lab in-house, we’re strengthening our commitment to delivering the most advanced care possible while using the resources available within our community,” said Douglas Hughes, president and chief executive officer at Grand View Health.

Dr. J. Doyle Walton, a board-certified and fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist, will serve as medical director of the Cath Lab. Walton also practices with Grand View Health Cardiology – Alderfer and Travis.

He will be joined by board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional cardiologist Dr. Daniel Tsyvine in performing procedures within the Cath Lab. Tsyvine recently joined the staff at Grand View Health Cardiology – Buxmont, formerly known as Buxmont Cardiology Associates.

As part of this transition, Grand View Health will now have full operational responsibility for its Cath Lab, which delivers expert and rapid care for both emergency and scheduled cardiac procedures.

The David M. Flowers Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory is located on the campus of Grand View Hospital in Sellersville. It’s named in honor of David Flowers, MD., a respected area cardiologist who passed away in 2003 at age 48 after a courageous battle with cancer. The lab began 24/7 operations in November 2019 and is accredited by Corazon, Inc., a national leader in services for the cardiovascular specialty.
