HomeFront to host Spooktacular 5K Run

Posted

HomeFront will host its third annual Halloween 5K and 1-Mile Run/Walk on Sunday, Oct. 29 in support of children impacted by poverty and homelessness in the community.

The event will take place on a United States Track and Field (USATF) certified course at Carnegie Center in Princeton, N.J., beginning at 9 a.m.

HomeFront’s Halloween 5K and 1-Mile Run/Walk aims to raise awareness and funds to support its Joy, Hopes, and Dreams (JHD) year-round children’s programming. JHD runs six days a week and includes tutoring and academic enrichment, arts classes in partnership with the Arts Council of Princeton, and exposure to new experiences and opportunities.

Participants are encouraged to dress up in their spookiest Halloween costumes, transforming the 5K run into a lively and festive parade. The event is open to all age groups and fitness levels, with an emphasis on family-friendly fun including Trunk or Treat, Craft Alley, and yard games including inflatable axe throwing.

The Pre-school Pumpkin Dash starts at 9 a.m. and the 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run and Walk begin at 10 a.m.

Runners can register for the Halloween 5K and One Mile Run/Walk by visiting HomeFront’s website or on site on the day of the event. The registration fee is $35, and all proceeds will benefit HomeFront’s important work in the community. Additionally, participants will receive a Halloween-themed 5K Run T-shirt as a token of appreciation for their support.

Local businesses and community members are invited to contribute as event sponsors or volunteers.
