Infant rescued from hot car; mother charged

Posted

Bystanders removed a 2-month-old infant from an unattended parked vehicle in Quakertown recently, when the outside temperature was approximately 90 degrees, borough police said today.

The windows were slightly cracked, police said, and the vehicle was not running when bystanders removed the infant and called police to 245 W. Broad St. at 2:45 p.m. July 5.

The infant was transported to St. Luke’s Bethlehem Campus for treatment and was later released from the hospital.

The infant’s mother — Janelle Loveless, 33, of Willow Park Road, Bethlehem — was located nearby.

She was charged July 11, with endangering the welfare of a child. Summary charges of leaving a child in a motor vehicle unattended and driving without a license also were filed against Loveless, police said.
