Joseph Ambler Inn celebrates 40th anniversary

Posted

The Joseph Ambler Inn, a historic hotel, restaurant and wedding venue located on the border of Bucks and Montgomery counties, celebrates its 40th year in business under the same ownership, Richard Allman.

Welcoming its first guests in 1983, Joseph Ambler Inn has evolved from a 15-room Colonial bed and breakfast to a 52-room luxury Inn nestled within 12 acres of manicured gardens and rolling meadows.

The inn is the result of four decades of work and vision by Allman, an established Chestnut Hill restaurateur.

“From the moment we opened our doors in 1983, we have remained dedicated to not only providing guests with memorable experiences and service but preserving the history of Montgomery Township,” he said. “We are incredibly proud to be celebrating 40 years at the Joseph Ambler Inn.”

Prior to Allman’s ownership in 1983, the property was known as Bonnymeade Farm, a private estate raising livestock in the 1820 stone bank barn. The estate’s 12 acres included Ambler’s original fieldstone manor house, which was built in stages over three centuries (1734, 1820, 1929) as well as a tenant farmer’s cottage, built in 1929.

The inn will commemorate its four decades in business by offering guests a curation of specials and promotions throughout the year. Specials will play on the number 40.

Guests, employees, and the general public are invited to join Joseph Ambler Inn at its 40th Anniversary Celebration from 4 to 7 p.m. June 19, where there will be food, drinks, music, games, and tours of the historic property.

Joseph Ambler Inn is located at 1005 Horsham Road in Montgomeryville. Visit online for information.
