Neshaminy superintendent placed on leave

Posted

Neshaminy School District officials have not said publicly why district superintendent Rob McGee was formally placed on leave Tuesday night in a school board vote.

The board met for its regular meeting Tuesday and voted to place McGee on leave, retroactively effective Friday Feb. 24, and appoint Jason Bowman as “substitute superintendent,” effective the same date.

Bowman is the district’s assistant to the superintendent and director of secondary education.

McGee has been with Neshaminy School District since 1987 when, according to his Linked-In page, he took a job as a math teacher at the beginning of the 1987-88 school year.

He served as high school principal from 2009-2018, before being named director of special education in 2018 and district superintendent in July 2020.

McGee made no mention of an impending leave in his recent communications with parents.
