Penn State Extension to offer workshop on dairy housing options

Posted

Dairy farmers and industry representatives are invited to attend the “Dairy Housing Options: My Tie Stall Is Worn Out, Now What?” event hosted by Penn State Extension from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 31 at the Rail Center, 184 Young Road, Lewisburg.

The workshop is designed for dairy farm owners and managers. Participants can explore dairy housing options, including tie stalls, freestalls and bedded packs.

Instructors will discuss low-cost milking facilities and ways to update tie stalls. This workshop is ideal for farmers looking to make a change, those taking over from the previous generation or individuals starting from scratch, organizers noted.

Participants registering as a group will benefit from a reduced fee structure. The cost is $10 for the first person and $5 for each additional person. Lunch will be provided.

Allied Pennsylvania Dairy Industries supports this event.
