Pennsylvania Trails of History sites mark Veterans Day

Posted

Several historic sites and museums along the Pennsylvania Trails of History will be open on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, including Graeme Park in Horsham and Brandywine Battlefield Park in Chadds Ford.

The Erie Maritime Museum, Erie, Pennsylvania Military Museum, Boalsburg, and The State Museum of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, will offer special programming celebrating Pennsylvania veterans. Visit eriemaritimemuseum.org, pamilmuseum.org and statemuseumpa.org for details.

In addition to Brandywine Battlefield Park and Graeme Park, open Trails of History sites include: Fort Pitt Museum, Pittsburgh; Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, Strasburg; and Somerset Historical Center, Somerset.

The Pennsylvania Trails of History comprises museums and historic sites administered by the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission, organized along four theme-based “trails” crossing the commonwealth: Military History, Industrial Heritage, Historic Homes, and Rural Farm and Village.

The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission is the official history agency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Learn more by visiting PHMC online or on social media.
