Primrose Creek floodplain survey begins in Solebury

Posted

Engineers from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection are conducting a survey of the Primrose Creek floodplain in Solebury. The survey area stretches from the New Hope Crushed Stone quarry down to the Delaware River.

Michael Baker International has been contracted by the state to perform the work.

The survey is part of a hydrologic and hydraulic study of the Primrose Creek to ensure residences downstream of the quarry are not negatively impacted by proposed reclamation activities at the quarry.

The survey, which will take place from June 26 until July 7, may require DEP officials to take measurements on or near private property. The areas colored light blue and dark purple in the images below represent the approximate area that will be surveyed.

Questions about the upcoming survey, may be addressed to the Solebury Township at 215-297-5656.
