Over 41 vehicles cruised through the roads of Bucks County Sunday, July 28, participating in the annual Road Rally for The New Hope Automobile Show.
Sponsored by Solebury Parks and Recreation and presented in partnership with New Hope Helping and the Philadelphia Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), the event offered a day of driving fun and competition.
Participants gathered at New Hope-Solebury High School and set off at 10 a.m. Teams followed a series of clues and questions, combining elements of a scavenger hunt with a road trip. Their travels ended at Peace Valley Park, where participants enjoyed a picnic lunch while tallying their scores.
This year’s winners were:
First Place: Darlette Jenkins, Jenn Belmont, and Amiee Anastasia.
Second Place: Scott Shied and Cindy McHenry.
Third Place: John, Nancy, and Megan Scarpiello.
Last Place and Winner of the Coveted Wooden Spoon: Fred and Kim Meseck.
The Road Rally is the popular lead-in for the main event: The New Hope Automobile Show, which returns Saturday, Aug. 10, and Sunday, Aug. 11, at New Hope-Solebury High School. This year’s Show celebrates the Chevy Camaro. It’s a new show each day, with Saturday featuring domestic vehicles. In addition to a range of regular domestic classes, the field will feature Rods, including Hot, Rat, Street, Restomods, and Custom. Saturday’s edition of the show will also have a class for Replicars and a Display Only class. Sunday showcases foreign vehicles, from Aston Martin and Austin Healey to Saab and Volvo. Sunday will also feature a Tuner class and a Display class.
