Rockin’ & Rollin’ at The Blue Bar to combat food insecurity benefits Warminster Food Bank

Posted

Warminster Food Bank announced that The Blue Bar’s special fundraiser to help fill the food bank’s shelves was a tremendous success. More than 1,250 pounds of food and $1,330 in cash and gift cards were donated by patrons who were treated to an evening of music by four bands.

The donations will help provide monthly groceries and supplies for families in need in Bucks and Montgomery counties. The Warminster Food Bank serves over 10,000 people a year in Bucks and Montgomery counties and 95 percent of the monetary donations received are used to provide groceries to local residents experiencing food insecurity.

The event had 300 people in attendance and was emceed by Bob Jones of the local band “Shakin Not Stirred” and The Blue Bar owners, Theresa and Karl Drahovsky. The featured bands were: “Shakin Not Stirred,” “The Casual Fridays,” “Never Enough Time” and “Swampy Jonz.”

“My husband, Karl, and I are longtime residents of Warminster,” said Theresa Drahovsky. “We were thrilled to be able to host this event. Everyone had fun and we are looking forward to working together with Warminster Food Bank in the future.”

“We are grateful to everyone who helped make this event possible, including our emcee Bob Jones and the bands that performed. They were all headliners and contributed greatly to the success of the event,” said Mike Cerino, director, Warminster Food Bank. “Theresa and Karl Drahovsky, were incredible and gracious hosts. They helped to bring together members of the community, as well as political, and civic leaders, all of whom got to learn more about our organization. We are immensely grateful for their support and friendship.”

The Warminster Food Bank serves more than 650 families each month with food donated by individuals and businesses. Donations and volunteers are always welcome. To learn more, go to https://www.warminsterfoodbank.org.
