Sale of Freedgood originals part of Pine Run Village’s OctoberFest

Posted

A special sale of the late Bucks County artist Oz Freedgood’s paintings will be held Saturday in conjunction with Pine Run Village’s OctoberFest to raise money for the retirement community’s benevolent care fund.

Freedgood, of Doylestown, died in June at the age of 100. An accomplished artist and teacher of art, he was a member of Artists of Yardley and exhibited in galleries throughout Bucks County, according to his obituary.

The upcoming sale to benefit Pine Run’s PARVEE Foundation was Freedgood’s wife Virginia’s idea.

“He painted every day, all his life,” she said. “His work is colorful, fun and features animals and Bucks County farms.”

The family is keeping some favorites, but the sale of the prolific artist’s work still tallies more than 100 pieces.

The fall festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the community center of Pine Run Village, 777 Ferry Road, Doylestown. The location is across from the Shrine of our Lady of Czestochowa.
