Students tackle difficult subject of Alzheimer’s

Posted

Mary Drummond, who co-authored Grandma and Me: A Kid’s Guide for Alzheimer’s and Dementia, will do a live reading of the book Tuesday at The Bridges at Warwick to help educate younger and older people about dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Joining the senior citizens at the assisted living and memory care facility will be students from Jamison Elementary School.

A summary of the book says it “provides a gentle, yet age-appropriate description of Alzheimer’s disease, while providing tools that help children continue to have a relationship with their loved one despite the disease.”
Drummond will be at the site from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Tuesday.
