The family and friends of the late Amy Perez and her children, Molly and Gregory, have announced their Amy’s Kisses 10th annual Walk to Remember, Sunday, June 2, at Tyler State Park in Richboro.
The Amy’s Kisses Foundation is a nonprofit organization, created in loving memory of the slain mother and children. It works to provide Kisses of Opportunity in the form of domestic violence prevention education and resources as well as educational scholarships and support to low-income students throughout the U.S.
Founded in 2012, Amy’s Kisses has raised over $200,000 to fund domestic violence prevention education and resources, college scholarships, technology, books, supplies, and educational services throughout the country. This Annual Walk to Remember will help to fund programming for Amy’s Kisses’ new book, “A Bowl Full of Hearts”; a story for the youngest learners to teach them how to make good choices about who they spend time with.
On Oct. 18, 2011. Perez and her children were murdered at the hands of her estranged husband, who also took his own life. The murders devastated Perez’s family and friends in the Philadelphia area and around the country, as well as their community in Westchester County, N.Y.
Raised in Havertown, and a graduate of Haverford High School, Cornell University and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Perez co-founded a successful college test preparation organization shortly before her untimely death. She was known to praise her students by tossing them chocolate candy from the bowl she kept on her desk. Additionally, Perez frequently spoke of wanting to establish a formal, need-based scholarship program for her services before her life was cut short.
Amy’s Kisses celebrates her enduring legacy and her commitment to academic excellence while helping to prevent domestic violence tragedies in the future.

Local beneficiaries include Pennsbury and Council Rock South high schools, and A Woman’s Place.
