Voices Chorale NJ sets Summer Sing and auditions

Posted

Voices Chorale NJ invites all singers to join in for a free open summer sing featuring selections from its 2024-2025 repertoire, including excerpts from the Requiems by Mozart and Brazilian composer José Maurício Nunes Garcia, who was the first to conduct a Mozart Requiem in Brazil and who also modeled his own Requiem on Mozart’s.

The event will take place at Music Together Worldwide Headquarters, 225 Pennington-Hopewell Road, Hopewell, N.J., at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19. Scores will be provided, and light refreshments and ice cream will be served.

It’s an opportunity to sing both well-loved and new music, meet Voices Chorale NJ director, Dr. David A. McConnell, and learn some fascinating history and context about the compositions. Meet other singers and consider setting up an audition to join the chorale.

Those interested in joining Voices Chorale NJ may audition that evening by contacting Linda Silber at LindaFSilber@gmail.com. All voice parts are welcome to audition, but tenors and bass/baritones are especially encouraged.
