2 rescues from Lebanon are the Tabby’s Place Cats of the Month

Posted

Hips and Polly are the Tabby’s Place Cats of the Month for June.

Hips arrived in 2022 with a fleet of felines from a rescue in Lebanon.

In his home country, Hips unfortunately suffered a serious injury that left him incontinent. After his arrival stateside, he underwent surgery to remove his non-functional tail and has recovered well.

Hips is an active youngster who loves exploring. He quickly made himself an official greeter in our lobby and loves to meet new people.

Due to his injury, Hips needs special daily care to help him feel his best. He is looking for a loving family that is willing to take on his medical needs.

Sweet, shy Polly is looking for a patient home that will help her adjust to life indoors. Polly has a traumatic history from her home country of Lebanon. While the details are murky, as a stray kitten, little Polly suffered an injury or infection to both eyes and had to have them removed.

The adjustment to life as a blind cat has been tough, but Polly remains resilient. With a little bit of time and patience (and some pet stairs), Polly has mastered her current living space and is growing more comfortable cohabitating with humans.

While Polly can’t see her feline roommates, she doesn’t seem to mind them. She’d rather find a nice bed for herself, but she’s certainly not above sharing the window perch with her roommates. Polly would do well in a home with other cats.

Polly is looking for an understanding home that can accommodate her needs and that will allow her to come out of her shell on her own terms.

Tabby’s Place is located in Ringoes, N.J. To fill out an application for Hips or Polly, visit https://www.tabbysplace.org.
