American Heritage Credit Union invites community to Grand Illumination display and events

Posted

American Heritage Credit Union (American Heritage) invites the community to visit its main campus at 2060 Red Lion Road in Northeast Philadelphia to enjoy more than 400,000 lights and holiday displays.

Each year, the American Heritage campus buildings and trees are illuminated, and multiple light displays are featured throughout the campus grounds. Community members are welcome to stroll the campus, take photos and enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season.

The free 16th annual Grand Illumination celebration kicks off with a special event at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25.

Attendees can enjoy the sounds of the holiday season with a concert featuring the Philadelphia Boys Choir, the Ukrainian Children’s Choir Soloveiky, and the New Jersey Fifes and Drums. Ben Franklin and Betsy Ross will be on hand to lend a colonial flavor to the evening’s events. Immediately following the illumination, a firework symphony will fill the night sky.

At the event, the Kids-N-Hope Foundation will present its annual donation to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In the spirit of giving, attendees are encouraged to bring a canned food item to help American Heritage reach its goal of 20,000 pounds for its annual holiday food drive.

The American Heritage Grand Illumination features more than 400,000 lights, two 40-foot illuminated trees, and hundreds of illuminated wreaths and decorations.

All community members are welcome to visit the American Heritage Red Lion Road campus between Nov. 26 and New Year’s Day to enjoy the decorations and take family photos. Enter through the Red Lion Road or Jamison Road entrances. Free parking is available on site and the lights will shine daily beginning at dusk each night.

“Grand Illumination has been a longstanding tradition here in our community, and each year we look forward to the joy it brings to families in the Philadelphia area, and the support that it provides for the Kids-N-Hope Foundation,” stated Bruce K. Foulke, president and CEO of American Heritage Credit Union and chairman of the Kids-N-Hope Foundation. “We can’t wait to see everyone there to celebrate the start of the holiday season!”
