Posted

Northampton Township’s annual Hometown Heroes Wreath Laying, to honor all first responders and military interred at Union Cemetery, is set for Dec. 2 in Richboro.

Union Cemetery dates back to 1855 and has many U.S. military buried on site. However, Union Cemetery is a community cemetery open to all backgrounds. Burial of anyone of any religion (nonsectarian) with military or nonmilitary backgrounds are welcome.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the cemetery, located at 209 Almshouse Road, Richboro. It will feature a short presentation followed by the laying of wreaths. Family members will be invited to place wreaths first; community members will follow and place wreaths on the remaining graves of military members and first responders. Members of the Northampton Township Police, Fire and EMS will attend with special vehicles on display.

Individuals are asked to mindful of the parking and allow for ample time for a prompt start.
