The Newtown Business Association (NBA) announced the return of the Newtown Antique & Classic Auto Show, set to take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, on historic State Street in Newtown Borough.

The annual car show is a staple of the summer season, drawing thousands of spectators to admire an impressive array of classic and antique automobiles. Car enthusiasts from near and far are invited to showcase their prized vehicles and compete for trophies in 14 categories, ranging from pre-1959 models to trucks, Corvettes, and more.

The event also encourages the local community to shop locally, bringing thousands of people to the bustling borough. “Our goal is always to encourage our community to work with local businesses and spend time in our downtown. The added benefit of classic cars parked up and down State Street ensures businesses in the area will benefit from the crowds and fun,” NBA President Dave Marcolla shared.

State Street will be transformed into a vibrant display of automotive history, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to view beautifully restored and preserved vehicles up close. The festive atmosphere promises fun for the whole family, with plenty of photo opportunities and chances to learn about the rich heritage of classic cars.

“We love seeing the new cars that decide to come out each year but also love catching up with the owners that have been participating faithfully in years past,” said Dan Petty, event chair. “Folks have upgraded more things over the year, gotten fresh paint and even sometimes acquired new (old) cars to show off. We love seeing the level of passion and dedication that gets put into each car while also appreciating the level of character others seek to preserve. The smiles on the faces of the attendees and the participants year-after-year make the hard work we put into the show worthwhile.”

“The Newtown Antique & Classic Car Show has been and is the quintessential hometown motoring event,” said 2024 Car Show Judge, Charlie Feuer. “The judges are absolute aficionados who have known the classes of vehicles all of their lives and take pride in selecting the Best for everyone’s benefit. It’s become increasingly difficult to choose the Best and has caused us to add a Third Place award. We love the challenge!”
