Erwinna Fall Festival returns to Erwin Stover House and Barn in Tinicum Park

Posted

Visit the Erwin Stover House and Barn in scenic Tinicum Park from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, for the annual Erwinna Fall Festival, which was inspired by local author Joyce Gilmore’s story, “The Erwinna Witches,” and which showcases the township’s historic and cultural landmarks in a new way.

Pick up a broom and swoop around artful reproductions of area notable historic landmarks in an epic obstacle course where one has to leapfrog across the backs of cows, dance along the old mill wheel spokes, or toss witches into the hanging baskets at the Golden Pheasant Inn.

See a reenactment of the Erwinna Witches story or purchase a signed copy from the author herself. Make your own mini witch brooms at the craft table. Try your hand at old-time Colonial games from racing hoops to tossing graces. Take a tour inside the historic Erwin-Stover House, and participate in the Erwinna Witches’ scavenger hunt.

The event is joined this year by area groups from the Tinicum Civic Association to the River Valley Waldorf School. There will be live music and performances by the Millstone Rover Morris Dance Troop. This event is rain or shine; all activities will be moved inside the barns in the case of inclement weather.
