Lois Bicknell of Solebury, PA passed away on May 23, 2024 at the home of her daughter, Patricia Widin.
She was born in Bayonne, NJ and raised in Westfield, NJ. Lois attended Westfield Public Schools and graduated from Brenau Academy in Georgia. She settled down with her husband and growing family in North Plainfield, NJ before moving to Warren, NJ and then Raleigh, NC. While living in North Plainfield and Warren she was a successful Real Estate Broker. She was an active golfer as a member of Plainfield Country Club and Fiddlers Elbow Country Club. Upon moving to Raleigh in 1991, Lois was a professional flower arranger for a local florist. Lois moved to Solebury in 1999. While living in Raleigh and Solebury, she enjoyed being a member of two book club groups. An accomplished bridge player, she was active in several weekly bridge groups. She especially enjoyed her Monday afternoon bridge games and valued her close friendship with those special ladies. An avid reader, she would take out five books every two weeks from the Doylestown Library.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Wieczorek (Victor) and Patricia Widin; stepdaughter Robin Bicknell of Chatsworth, CA; stepson Kurt Bucknell (Linda) of Arkansas; daughter-in-law Stephanie Widin of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren Catherine Bailey (Steve) of Raleigh, NC, Christopher Widin of Eugene, OR, and Anna Widin of Knoxville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Julie Bailey and Lucy Bailey. She was predeceased by her husbands Edgar G. Widin and Burt Bicknell; her son Richard E. Widin; daughter Pamela W. Widin; and stepson Brad Bicknell.
Lois was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury. Services were held privately.
